In order to standardise the abstract layout we ask you to read the preparation guidelines CAREFULLY!
Guidelines for preparation and submission of abstracts:
- Abstracts can be submitted only via the link in the ICW website and no email or fax versions will be accepted.
- An abstract submission fee of $US 60 should accompany each abstract. Late Breaking Abstracts are now being accepted, thru May 14th. Late Breaking Abstracts will have a fee of $70.00.
- The length of the abstract is limited to 2,000 characters, including spaces but excluding title, authors, and author affiliations.
- Please select a Complement theme from the pull down menu, where your abstract fits best.
- Each abstract should represent new data that have neither been published nor presented elsewhere before the submission date of March 12, 2010. NEW EXTENSION DATE TO MARCH 17, 2010
- Since all accepted abstracts would be published in "Molecular Immunology" abstracts must be written in English using UK English spelling.
- The abstract should clearly and succinctly discuss the background, the rationale, and the methods of the study. Results must contain data and the conclusions must be clearly expressed.
- Tables, charts or other graphics may not be included and will be deleted by the editors, if included.
- The use of complex mathematical formulae or symbols should be avoided. Symbols such as < or > should be written as <= or >=. For superscript use caret (^) e.g. 10^6 instead of 106. Do not use Greek letters and symbols. Instead of 'IFN-y' use for example 'IFN-g' or 'IFN-gamma'.
- All abbreviations must be defined the first time they appear in your text (but, do not define in the title). Example: membrane cofactor protein (MCP), before using MCP subsequently.
- An online confirmation of your submission will be seen online immediately after submission.
- You may review your abstract at anytime prior to March 12, by logging in and clicking on the title.
- You may substitute a corrected abstract to replace an older version of the same abstract. Please remember to delete any undesired abstract(s) from the system.
- The presenting author must register to attend the conference.
Travel Awards:To encourage robust participation of young trainees (Grad students and Postdoctoral Fellows), the ICS will make as many travel awards as possible. Eligibility is based on acceptance of submitted first-authored abstract(s), financial needs, and provision of proof that the applicant is indeed a trainee.
